Gabriella Turns 2!

Today is a very special day, Gabriella Racquel Page’s Birthday! She just happens to be my niece and I love her to bits!  Gabby, or Gwabbers as I like to call her, actually turns 2 today! My sisters family lives back in Wisconsin and I was able to sneak away for a week when she was born. At that time, I was able to capture these beautiful lifestyle newborn portraits. Since then, I have been able to visit or meet up with the family and photograph a lot of fun sessions. I will be posting more of her sessions! For now, I will start with her lifestyle newborn portraits 🙂

Location

When we fist started talking about ideas, this field behind their house came to mind right away. My sister Brittany and her husband Marlie are farmers and wanted to incorporate this into our shoot. Central Wisconsin, where I grew up and they still live has mostly flat, but some rolling hills dotted with small farms and fields. These open fields can have a rotation of crops, and the one right behind their house just so happened to have some bright green wheat growing! I also loved this because Brittany had bearded wheat in her wedding bouquet. It all tied in very nicely!

What To Wear

Thinking about what to wear for their lifestyle newborn portrait session we decided that neutrals and denim would look nice against the greens and blue hues of springtime in Wisconsin. I also would like to point out that Marlie’s shirt proves you can do plaid in sessions! Just pick the right pattern 🙂

We all love our first niece/grandchild and little one of the family and can hardly wait to see what else she will be into as a 2 year old! Happy Birthday Gwabbers Aunty Brooke loves you!
