A Spring Marietta Engagement Session
Relocating your business can be tough. After moving to Georgia from Florida this fall, I quickly had to get my barring’s strait! All the comforts of knowing where to shoot, local favorites and hidden gems were something of the past. I had to start all over and went into scouting mode right away for the best Marietta Engagement Session locations. The scenery here in northern Georgia is pretty amazing in the Metro Atlanta area. I am close enough to the city, yet Cobb county and the northern parks and waterfall locations have a lot to offer! I am not used to having gardens or old historic downtown areas and buildings to shoot with. There was one location like that in South Florida and nobody wanted that! Lol! They say variety is the spice of life and I agree.
Local History
One of these new to me locations is the Sope Creek Paper Mill Ruins. You have to stumble upon it, as the location is not very obvious. JD and I went hiking on this trail a few months ago and even though it was still winter, I was envisioning a spring/summer/fall session taking place right there! This location is perfect for someone interested in a Marietta Engagement Session. There is big old stacked stone foundation ruins of a Civil War era paper mill right on the banks of a creek! It has quite the history! The mill was destroyed by Union Soldiers during the Civil War, targeted for its role in the production of confederate currency! There is also plenty of trails, stones in the creek and a very cute riverbed that allows for some awesome backdrops.
I was super excited when my engaged couple who’s wedding I have the honor of shooting in October said they wanted to have their Marietta engagement session at this exact location! Great minds do think alike!! I met with Rose when they booked the wedding in December so I was really excited to meet Brian for the first time. She said he may be shy to the camera, but they both did amazing! I cannot wait for their wedding!
To Rose and Brian, thank you so much for trusting me to be your engagement and wedding photographer. I hope you love your images as much as I do, which is a lot! I look forward to your wedding in October and it will be here before you know it!
